You don't make the wrist hinge happen. You let it.

This is one of the MOST IMPORTANT things Erika has ever said about the golf swing and most golfers get it completely backwards... Wrist hinge is not something you manufacture. It's not a position you force early in the backswing. It's a response to momentum. The weight of the club builds as the swing gets bigger, and at a certain tipping point, the wrists simply hinge on their own because physics says they have to. Watch the wrist flail demo. Nothing happens on a small swing. A little more speed and suddenly the hinge appears naturally without any hand manipulation at all. The moment you try to force that angle early, you break the pendulum, kill your speed, and introduce the kind of tension that makes a free swing nearly impossible. Let the club do what it wants. Your only job is to stay loose enough to let it happen. Full video out now.
