Try this with a rope or beach towel
Grab a rope or beach towel, knot one end, and lay it on the ground. That's the whole setup. Now step, pivot away, and swing it. If your wrists hinge too early, the towel just goes limp. It doesn't fly, it doesn't get over your shoulder, and it gives you zero satisfying feedback. But when you drag it away with a wide Y position first, letting the body lead and the arms follow, the rope flies back and over your shoulder almost by itself. That's the feeling you're looking for in your takeaway. Not a lift, not a quick set, not a manufactured hinge. A drag. A fling. A step pivot that creates enough momentum that the slack comes out of the system naturally. You can't fake this drill. The towel tells you immediately whether you're doing it right or not, and you don't need to leave the house to try it.
