He defeated Republican Ken Paxton, ending Democrats' decades-long losing streak in statewide elections. Democrat James Talarico celebrated his victory over Republican Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race on November 3, declaring, “We just took back Texas.” In his victory speech, Talarico said the result showed that ordinary Texans could overcome enormous campaign spending and divisive politics. He argued that “a politics of love” could defeat division and framed the election as a contest between the people and wealthy donors. Talarico's win marks a major breakthrough for Democrats in Texas, where the party had not won a U.S. Senate race since 1988. #Talarico #JamesTalarico #Texas #USSenate #Midterms2026 Enjoy the best sports news on our website, with all the top stories and the latest updates on video: https://en.as.com/videos/?omnil=mpal
