After a couple of weeks cycling through the mountains of Northern Luzon, I found myself craving the paradisiacal version of the Philippines we’re always sold. Curious for a change of scenery, I boarded a ten-hour overnight bus south from the mountains and woke up in Tagaytay, where I began cycling southward in search of the Philippine Sea. Along the way, I passed through fishing villages, fell asleep to the sounds of the jungle, camped by the ocean for the first time, and even spotted a turtle while diving. But after a few days riding through Mindoro Island and slowly slipping into the laid-back rhythm of island life, a last-minute decision led me to trade my bicycle and panniers for a backpack and a swimsuit, and fly to Siargao to finally learn how to surf. — During the first week of each video, I disabled mid-roll ads to ensure a more immersive experience.
