Perfect your Serve in Pickleball
Want a more consistent pickleball serve? In this video, we break down a simple serving system that helps you stop missing easy serves, stay calm under pressure, and build a serve you can trust every time you step behind the baseline. The biggest mistake most players make is trying to do too much. They switch between serve types, swing at full power, rush their motion, or aim too generally into the service box. That's exactly why the serve starts to feel inconsistent. In this lesson, you'll learn the three pillars of serve consistency: 1) Choose one serve and master it Stop switching between serve types. Pick one serve, whether it's a drop serve or volley serve, and practice it exclusively until it becomes automatic. 2) Build a pre-serve ritual A good serve starts before you hit the ball. Use the same routine every time: take your position, bounce the ball, breathe, look at your target, then serve. This calms your nerves and builds muscle memory. 3) Serve at 80% power You don't need to serve at 100% to put pressure on your opponent. An 80% serve keeps your muscles relaxed, gives you better control, and still works when you aim deep. You'll also learn how to aim at better targets, why deep serves are so effective, how to reset after a missed serve, and how to stop one mistake from turning into three. Try this daily drill: → Hit 50 serves to the same target → Use your full ritual every time → Count how many land in and write it down → Beat that number the next day Consistency isn't magic. It's a system.
