At just 17 years old, this was my first big solo trip, and after 800 miles, I became homesick and burnt out. As soon as I stepped off the trail that year, I knew I was not finished out there, and it wasn’t long until I found myself back at the very beginning once again. In 2024, I went on to retrace the first 800 miles, then continued northbound all the way to Canada, completing my biggest dream of thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
