Half Dome: Winter Ascent!

Climbing Yosemite's Half Dome in Winter. The Half Dome cables are down, and we are going up. No permit required. Just sun, snow, and pure fun. The Half Dome Cables are typically down in the winter and early spring months, meaning that in order to complete the Half Dome hike, climbers must come prepared with appropriate gear to ascend to the summit. Keep in mind, while no permit is required to hike Half Dome in the winter, the winter conditions can make sub dome and the Half Dome cables section impassable depending on the level of snow and ice. However, we timed it right and arrived when Nevada Falls and Vernal Falls were roaring and there was the perfect amount of snow to make for a fun but safe ascent of the dome. #yosemite #halfdome #yosemitenationalpark
