WEEKS of Beginner Stone Masonry Work FINALLY Paid Off on Our Off Grid Homestead
This week on our off grid homestead in rural Italy, we continue our complete renovation of the cave area on our land & weeks of beginner stone masonry work finally start to pay off as we continue repairing and finishing the 100-year old dry stone wall on our abandoned land. What started as a simple stone wall repair quickly became a much bigger homestead construction project. We had to clear loose stones, rebuild unstable sections, deal with roots and soil inside the wall, learn how to work with lime mortar and slowly bring this century-old stone wall back together stone by stone. This episode is a real look at DIY homestead work, stone masonry, dry stone wall restoration, old stone house renovation and the hard physical reality of building an off grid homestead from scratch. It took far more time, patience, and effort than we expected — but after weeks of work, the transformation is finally finished! & We're so proud of ourselves! We’re Emily & Robi — turning 5 acres of abandoned land in rural Italy into a self sufficient off grid homestead. 📩 Business: anotherhomestead@influint.co 📲 Personal: anotherhomestead@outlook.com 🌿 Instagram: @another_homestead 💲 Support us: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/anotherhomestead ☕️ Buy us a coffee: https://ko-fi.com/anotherhomestead Chapters: 00:00 Welcome to our homestead 00:16 Continuing to restore our dry stone wall 02:24 Rebuilding the wall stone by stone 05:03 Day 2 rebuilding 08:43 Rebuilding the side of the wall 10:11 Day 3 pointing with lime mortar 12:10 Rebuilding the crown of the dry stone wall 14:07 Rebuilding the side of the wall 15:05 Continuing the crown 15:36 Project so far 16:14 Continuing stone masonry work 19:04 The next big problem 19:53 Fixing the back 22:05 Weeks of stone masonry work 25:49 Fixing the crown final steps 33:11 Pointing the crown 35:12 Final result!! #homestead #homesteading #construction WEEKS of Stone Masonry Work FINALLY Paid Off on Our Off Grid Homestead
