We fixed his overswing in 10 minutes 👀
One of my students this week couldn't stop over-swinging, and it was wrecking his timing. So we spent 10 minutes on two simple fixes and it made a noticeable difference right away. The first thing we addressed was his trail leg. He was losing his knee and ankle completely on the backswing, which was letting him swing way too far back. The fix: pressure on the inside of the trail foot, big toe staying on the ground, kneecap tracking over the foot. That one cue alone put a natural limit on how far he could turn. The second piece was keeping him in his posture. His upper body was stretching out and lifting through the backswing, which added even more unwanted length. Think about staying in a slight crunch position through your core. Don't let yourself grow taller as you turn back. When you keep that trail leg braced and your core engaged, your backswing naturally finds its limit. Not because you're forcing it short, but because your body is loaded and stable. That's where your power actually comes from. #GolfTips #GolfSwing #GolfDrills #Golf
