2026 Absa Cape Epic┃Stage 6 Highlights
Stage 6 of the Absa Cape Epic brought fast, high-intensity racing into the iconic trails of Stellenbosch, where tight singletrack and relentless pace left no room for error. In the men’s race, early attacks set the tone before the race exploded into a tactical battle between the GC contenders. Bart Alleman and Martin Stošek surged to a powerful stage win, but the biggest story came behind them — Matt Beers and Tristan Nortje delivered a crucial ride to claw back time on the overall leaders. After a tough day for Wilier Vittoria, their GC advantage was slashed to just 13 seconds, setting up a dramatic final stage showdown. The women’s race saw continued dominance from Candice Lill and Alessandra Keller. Riding smart and controlled, they managed the stage perfectly before pulling clear to secure yet another victory — their sixth of the race. With their closest rivals out of contention, they extended a massive overall lead and moved within touching distance of overall victory. With everything on the line heading into the final stage, Stage 6 set the scene for an all-or-nothing finale at the Absa Cape Epic.
