We are honing our ability to engage the shoulder girdle stabilisers whilst flexing the spine to strengthen the abdominals. In these workouts we will be doing an all-over body workout, whilst focusing our abdominal connection. Integrating the latts with abdominals strength can be very challenging when first starting Pilates. But in fact, the latts and mid-back stabilisers are part of the Powerhouse. The core gets stronger not only when we strengthen and stabilise the lumbopelvic region but also when we strengthen the scapula stabilisers.
